Cameron’s Brewery in Oakville is planning a Scottish themed shindig and are asking everyone to “get yer kilt on,” while celebrating Robbie Burns Day.
A Burns supper is a celebration of the life and poetry of the poet Robert Burns, author of many Scots poems. The suppers are normally held on or near the poet’s birthday (the 25th of January), sometimes also known as Robert Burns Day or Burns Night although they may in principle be held at any time of the year.
The brewery is celebrating the day in their own way, with good beer, good food and some traditional music. Brewmaster Jason Britton created a Scottish type ale to complement the event.
Tickets are $15 in advance when payment received by January, 30. Otherwise, $20 at the door.
Free drink ticket and a new Cameron’s “DRINK LOCAL” bumper sticker will be given to anyone wearing a kilt at cask night.
