There is something brewing on the west coast. Phillips Brewing of Vancouver has announced the release of three new beers: Bottle Rocket ISA, Twisted Oak Scotch Ale and Leviathan Milk Stout.
Hop fans can look forward to Bottle Rocket India Session Ale (ISA), a bright and bitter beer guaranteed to rock your tastebuds. The ISA differs from the more common IPA by being not as hoppy, thus lighter, coming in at 5%, but still offering a blast of flavour. Bottle Rocket is available year-round at private liquor stores throughout Vancouver and Phillips Brewing headquarters.
For those of you looking for something a little sweeter, the Twisted Oak Scotch Ale has everything to cure your desires. Scotch Ale is the introductory beer to Phillips’ new Twisted Oak series. This will be a group of seasonal beers brewed with the purpose of demonstrating all that barrel flavours have to offer. Scotch Ale highlights gentle peat notes and sweet vanilla flavours infused with the natural aromas from time spent aging in whiskey barrels. It is 6.8% and available year-round in liquor stores in the Vancouver area.
Lastly, Phillips has made their award-winning Leviathan Milk Stout available for a limited time. All proceeds from the sale of this beer will be donated to support the efforts of the Cetus Research and Conservation Society, an organization dedicated to the preservation of marine habitats. It is 5.5% and available in bottles in private liquor stores on Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland, and from the Phillips Brewery retail store. Grab a bottle while it lasts.
